DON'T BEAT THE RACE DIRECTOR!

Columbus Marathon

Last year Columbus Marathon Race Director Darris Blackford challenged all runners to try and beat him over the 5k run and those who suceeded won a free entry for the Columbus Marathon or 1/2 Marathon!

This year Darris decided that he wanted to give more people a chance at those free entries, so in 2012 a new challenge will be offered!

Darris will start the 2012 race in dead last place and attempt to catch as many people as he can. Everyone he passes during the race will automatically become eligible for one of 20 free Columbus Marathon or 1/2 Marathon entries that will be randomly raffled off!

Why 20 Entries? Last year Darris gave away 17, and in honor of The Bicentennial Celebration of Columbus we wanted to up that number!

North Bank Park is located along the Scioto River in downtown Columbus, just north of downtown and in front of the Arena and Pen West Districts. The median strip between Spring and Long Streets is also incorporated into the park. The park provides a site for hosting special events, boating opportunities (dock and river access) and trails for walkers, cyclists, joggers and skaters along the river. These trails connect the park to the Olentangy and Scioto Greenway Trails to the north and Battelle, Avenue of Flags and Bicentennial Parks to the south.
