SIDS Awareness 5K - July 31
On July 31, 2009 we lost our grandson, Baby Will, to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). The sudden loss of our seemingly healthy grandson was devastating to our entire family.
As Baby Will’s grandparents, and in cooperation with three family friends, we are hosting a SIDS Awareness 5K Run and Family Fun Walk at Genoa Park in downtown Columbus, Ohio on July 31, 2010. This event will honor the life and memory of our grandson by raising funds to support the Sudden Infant Death Network of Ohio and current medical research efforts to find the cause and cure for this senseless loss of life.

Myers Training Camp - July 29-31
Our mission is to help young athletes involved in track & field and cross country improve their technique and overall training performance. Over the years, we have had the unique opportunity to be involved in these sports at all levels, high school through international, as both athletes and coaches. Now, we would like to share our experiences and assist other aspiring athletes on their athletic journeys.
Campers will have the opportunity to run the grass trails at Fairfield Union High School with other campers and counselors. You also will be given instruction and the chance to participate in drills and exercises to improve and supplement your training.

Run For Spaghetti - August 14
Lower Lights Christian Health Center invites you to participate in the 6th annual Run/Walk for Spaghetti 5K on Saturday August 14th in Hilliard!
All race proceeds benefit Lower Lights Christian Health Center, a 501(c)(3) non-profit community health center located in the Central Ohio area serving all who need high quality health care, regardless of their ability to pay for it!
Free Spaghetti for all who participate, Compliments of the Florentine Restaurant! Come enjoy a run and a great Italian meal with friends!

One Mile - August 15
Come join us for the 1st Annual One Mile Event presented by Second Sole Racing! Our 2nd signature event of 2010 will feature a one mile race around a paved bike path, think of it as a one loop track. Whether you are running or walking, fast or slow or anywhere in between the atmosphere is going to be awesome. Flat course, great shirt, fun awards, free post race food from a local sponsor and a chance to mix up the running with something different should be reason enough to come out for a great Sunday morning of running! Don’t forget to take advantage of a discount if you are a student athlete or if you register for signature event #3 – The Fall Fest 5k.

Spirit of Columbus Half Marathon - August 29
Don't miss the 3rd Annual Spirit of Columbus Half Marathon and Two Person Relay! This is a fast, scenic and fun course where PR's (Personal Records / Best's) are abundant... Great tech shirt, wonderful goodie bag, a kickin' finisher medal and a commemorative finisher drink glass.
Head over to Second Sole Gahanna to register in person. For this, you'll receive a 2009 Spirit of Columbus or Piitsburgh technical hat or shirt along with the Second Sole SOC Discount. Shirt sizes and quanities are limited, so this offer is good until August 19th or while supplies last.
Race For the Soul - September 18
Race for the Soul sets out to bring awareness to, and provide for, the needs of people in Central Ohio and throughout the world. Through the efforts of our beneficiaries, hundreds of thousands of people have been provided food, clean drinking water, medical assistance, along with a vast array of other physical and emotional needs.
In 2007, 100 runners and walkers participated in the Inaugural Race for the Soul and helped raise $3,000 for our beneficiary, Better Way Ministries, a ministry and mission in downtown Columbus. This was the only fund raising event Better Way had for the year and it allowed them to provide hundreds of people with the assistance they needed. On race day, Wanda Campbell, President of Better Way, shared a very rewarding story about a group of homeless individuals who had asked her for tents to sleep in outside. At first she thought they didn’t have the available funds to help them until she remembered about the money coming in from the race.
In 2008, over 200 runners and walkers participated in the 2nd Annual Race for the Soul and helped raise over $7,000 for both Better Way and Life 2 Orphans.
In 2009, over 350 runners and walkers participated in the 3rd Annual Race for the Soul and helped raise over $10,000 for Better Way, The Stowe Center and Thirst Relief International.
In 2010 the Race for the Soul will raise even more!

Fall Fest 5K - October 2
Join us for the 1st annual Fall Fest 5k presented by Second Sole Racing! This is our 3rd signature event of 2010 and will feature a flat and accurate neighborhood 5k course that starts and ends in Hilliard Municipal Park. Whether you are tuning up for a fall marathon or half, looking to PR on an accurate course or getting on the starting line to complete your first 5k we guarantee this to be your best race experience of 2010.

Susan G. Komen Marathon For A Cure
2010 is the inaugural year for Komen Columbus Marathon for the Cure Team. Whether you are a walker or a runner, are going for the challenge of a half marathon or the full 26.2 miles, there is a spot for you on this team!

All Second Sole Racing Signature Events will feature the Vimeo™ HD Finish Line Cam. Footage will be taken throughout race morning and then we will capture each participant as they finish!
